The Vineyard

The wine-growing zone in the slopes of Aigialeia is characterized as one of the most interesting of the world. The slopes extend to the northern side of Peloponnese with a northern exposure.

The vineyards area, totaling area of 1,100 hectares, is positioned alongside the route between Aegeira – Akrata and Loggos – Labiri and extends to the most mountainous villages of the area such as Zireia, Verino, Paraskevi, Pteri etc. Mount Panachaiko and Mount Helmos, located in the southern part of the vineyards area, protect the vineyards from the warm southern summer winds, coming from the Mediterranean Sea and Africa.

The altitude of the vineyards varies from 500 to 1050 m and infuses the desired acidity to the produced wines. Due to its northern exposure, the area is very aptly called “Corinthian Balcony”. The mild climate of the region is due to the existence of gorges with rich natural vegetation and small rivers flowing into the sea. Rainfalls are quite common and there is a significant day-to-night temperature difference, especially during the summer months, resulting in a mild grape maturity.
The terroir of the region, the vineyards’ “aura”, the soil, the efficient drainage, due to inclination, and the cultivation techniques along with the low area yields compose the perfect scene for producing excellent grape quality and top quality wines.
